New government proposals threaten to ban or severely restrict short-term holiday rentals across Ireland, going far beyond standard EU regulations.
When is this happening?
Changes are proposed to take effect for all bookings confirmed on or after 20th May 2026. Existing bookings made before this date are currently expected to remain valid.
